Prepared: July 12, 2026

Status: provisional until the final source commit is frozen and Win-builder checks are complete. This record does not claim that version 1.0.1 has been released or accepted by CRAN.

Candidate identification

  • Pull request: JaeManP/pcatR#2
  • Candidate package-source head: pending final source freeze
  • Source archive: pcatR_1.0.1.tar.gz
  • Candidate SHA-256: pending final source freeze
  • Final frozen-submission SHA-256: pending source freeze
  • Editable guide source: inst/guides/source/pcatR_Technical_User_Guide.Rmd

Completed local checks

  • 136 testthat expectations passed with zero failures, warnings, or skips.
  • All 25 pcat_self_test() checks passed.
  • The 14-item dictionary, 29 CFIR mapping rows, 336-row synthetic example, and 24 complete synthetic assessments were exercised.
  • A clean source archive was built and inspected; it contains the editable guide source, CSS, rendering instructions, self-contained HTML, and PDF.
  • The editable R Markdown source independently reproduced both HTML and PDF.
  • The distributed 18-page Letter-size PDF was rendered page by page and visually inspected with no clipping, overlap, broken tables, or missing footers.
  • spelling::spell_check_package() reported no findings.
  • urlchecker::url_check() reported all URLs correct.
  • A clean pkgdown build completed without warnings. The home, function reference, vignette, author/citation, license, attribution, and release pages were inspected in a local browser.
  • Local R CMD check --as-cran on macOS 26.1 arm64 with R 4.4.2 completed with 0 errors, 0 warnings, and 3 notes: new submission, inability to verify the host clock, and the local R 4.4 HTML validator’s rejection of HTML5 elements generated by R itself.

Automated current-R archive checks

Pre-freeze GitHub Actions runs have built exact candidate archives under R-release and checked the same downloaded bytes under R-release and R-devel with the full PDF manual enabled. Candidate checks completed with 0 errors, 0 warnings, and the documented new-submission and unavailable-HTML-Tidy notes.

The workflow stores pcatR_1.0.1.sha256 beside the archive and verifies that checksum before each exact-archive check. The standard matrix also checks Windows R-release, macOS R-release, Ubuntu R-release, R-devel, R-oldrel-1, and R 4.1; coverage and PR-only pkgdown builds are separate required checks. Final run IDs and the final checksum remain pending the source freeze.

Outstanding external gates

  • Retain Lilac Li’s written approval of her authorship and copyright-holder role, Jae Man Park’s maintainer role, licensing, public distribution, and CRAN submission.
  • Retain the original instrument authors’ package-name confirmation.
  • Run the exact frozen archive through Win-builder R-release and R-devel.
  • Replace provisional entries above with the frozen commit, archive SHA-256, GitHub run IDs, and Win-builder results.
  • Submit only the exact tested archive, confirm CRAN’s email, and create the v1.0.1 tag only after the final release decision.

Methodological release boundary

The package does not calculate or endorse a validated overall pCAT total score. The -2 to +2 display code is descriptive only, and implementation-strategy links are local deliberation prompts rather than prescriptions.
